Your Car's Cold Weather

Survival Guide

provided by Surf City Garage

 Snow Car

Summer has come and gone and now you're prepping your house, your wardrobe, even your

kitchen for winter temperatures, but have you thought about what the cold can do to your car?

Well, don't panic yet - Surf City Garage is here to equip you and your ride with a foolproof

cold weather survival guide.

Believe it or not, it's not just the exterior of your car that's affected by rain, snow, ice and road
salt - the interior is, too. Fortunately, we have just the products and tips to help you protect
your car against Mother Nature's icy cold wrath.

First things first - your paint. Keeping your car washed, waxed and sealed is the best way to

create and preserve that glossy finish you worked on during the summer months. Start by

washing your car with Barrier Reef® Wash & Wax, follow with Nano Seal™ Protective Coat to

seal all of your paint, even the microscopic pores. Then finish with Barrier Reef® Carnauba

Wax. Its advanced polymers add extra protection and leave your car with a factory shine

bound to impress during the cold, harsh weather. Depending on where you live and how long

your winter is, you'll need 1-2 coats (about every 3 months), but to keep everything looking

great all the time, use Speed Demon™ Wax Detailer every week for just a few minutes.

That takes care of the outside, but many people don't factor in their car's interior when it

comes to cold-weather care and that can lead to expensive problems down the road. The dry

air saps the moisture right out of your leather and vinyl, leaving it vulnerable to cracks. The

solution? Voodoo Blend™ Leather Rejuvenator is just what you need to keep your leather and

vinyl supple and smooth. The trick is to make sure you treat your car's interior before the

temperature drops, as well as throughout the cold months.

Now that we've covered your paint and interior, what's left? Your ride's tires and wheels, which

endure the worst of winter's elements. Our Enthusiast Grade® tire dressing,

Beyond Black® Tire Pro, protects your tires from cracking, splitting and UV damage - and on

top of that, it gives them a great, straight-off-the-showroom-floor shine.

Whether you live in Surf City, California or Fairbanks, Alaska; with Surf City Garage, Your
Ride's Worth It®.

Two-face Toronado an evil/handsome genius/crook

Avatar for Justin Hyde Justin Hyde —Two-face Toronado an evil/handsome genius/crookWhen Precision Car Restoration in St. Louis wanted to highlight its work, it decided to create a rolling before and after ad by restoring exactly half of a 1967 Oldsmobile Toronado. Two-Face just found what he wants for his birthday.

The half-and-half treatment runs the entire length of the classic front-wheel-drive beast, and includes a half-finished engine compartment and trunk. Since the Olds V8 was installed longitudinally, we can only assume only half of its cylinders have been given a once-over, which must make for some fun engine revs.

Full size
Inside, the blending of old and new is somewhat seamless, although it could be as much work to make the old and new mate than just ripping out the old and starting fresh. Two-Face always ran hot and cold like that.

Collection Gallery: The Jim Henderson Collection - Mobile, AlabamaBy Brian Lohnes - Photos by Charles Schryver Posted 03/28/11

BangShift member Charles Schryver has a bad ass little six cylinder Falcon. He's also a member of the Falcon Club of America which was having their Southern Regional meeting in Pensacola, Florida this past weekend. One of the activities was a cruise to Mobile, Alabama and a tour of the massive private collection of Jim Henderson, the president of Mobile Lumber.

According to Charles, Henderson's collection numbers over 100 cars (about 60 of which were at the location he toured). He is currently building another facility which will house them all, and be open to the public. There are some real gems in this collection including a 1940 Packard Limo used to transport Bogart around, an alumiunum 1929 Lincoln, Liberache's Rolls Royce, and a host of others.

Hit the link below to see the collection!

Thanks for the photos Charles!
